Which Joomla! versions are supported?

The current release runs on Joomla 4, Joomla 5 and Joomla 6, and needs PHP 8.0 or newer with MySQL 8.0 / MariaDB 10.4 or newer. If you are still on Joomla 3, download the legacy package instead.

What video sources can I publish?

Every major video source, and they can be mixed freely within the same gallery: MP4, WebM and OGV files you upload yourself, a separate HD file for quality switching, YouTube links, Vimeo links including private videos, HLS and MPEG-DASH streams, and embed code from any other platform.

Is Yendif Video Share free?

Yes. The component is free to use, with no time limit and no cap on the number of videos or categories. The player, galleries, playlists, search, access control, front-end submissions, comments and analytics are all included. The player carries a small hardcoded branding text, and the premium features listed above are unlocked with a commercial key.

What does the premium version add?

The premium version adds bulk YouTube import with auto scheduling, video advertisements using your own clips or a VAST tag, popup / lightbox playback, likes and dislikes, five star ratings, the embed button, the share button, the download button, and your own logo on the player in place of the default branding.

How does the licensing work?

The commercial key is tied to one domain name and covers every sub-domain beneath it. A key issued for mysite.com also works on www.mysite.com, forum.mysite.com and any other sub-domain, but not on a second, unrelated domain.

How do I get the commercial key?

Once your payment is complete, email admin@yendifplayer.com with your PayPal transaction ID and the domain the key should be issued for. We reply with your commercial key, which you add in the Licensing tab of the component options. There is no separate package for commercial users — the key unlocks the one you already have.

Do I need any API keys?

No — the component works out of the box without any keys at all. Credentials are only needed for optional extras: a Google API key to bulk import videos from your YouTube channel or playlist, and a Vimeo access token if you publish private Vimeo videos and want their thumbnails generated automatically.
